Makkah office of Pakistan International Airlines playing an instrumental role in post-hajj operation

Karachi, November 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Makkah office of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is playing an instrumental role in its Post-Hajj operation. This was stated by Shaikh Muhammad Fahim, District Sales Manager of PIA, while briefing the visiting Pakistani Media men here on Tuesday.

He said that the PIA Makkah office facilitates the timely return of the Hujjaj from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan via Jeddah Haj terminal after performing Hajj.

Fahim said that every possible assistance is extended to the Hajis while attending to their problems, if any.

He said that a team is deployed on round the clock basis to perform in collaboration with the Pakistan Hajj Mission and ensuring the timely departure of the Hujjaj from Makkah to the Jeddah Haj Terminal for onward journey to Pakistan.

Regarding late arrival of the Hujjaj at the Jeddah Haj Terminal, he said that due to reduction in traffic congestion at Makkah the arrival of Hujjaj at Jeddah Hajj Terminal is now normalizing.

He said that the PIA Makkah office in its usual business has also generated a revenue of 40 million Riyals last year while a target of more than that has been set for the current year and he was optimistic to achieve the goal.

Meanwhile, the PIA has so far operated 53 post-Haj flights bringing back over 23,000 Hujjaj to Pakistan and the process would continue till November 29.

The PIA in a month-long process would ferry about 96,000 Hujjaj onboard through more than 196 Post Hajj flights.

The PIA Post-Hajj flights are now operating as per the estimated time of departure from the Jeddah Hajj Terminal to the major cities of Pakistan arriving as per the estimated time of arrivals.–
