Liquid foreign reserves reach US$21,266.6 million

Karachi, June 09, 2016 (PPI-OT):State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday announced that the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$21,266.6 million on 03 June 2016. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan stood at US$16,462.6 million; Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks remained US$ 4,804.0 million; and total liquid foreign reserves stood at US$ 21,266.6 million.

During the week ending 03 June 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$344 million to US$16,463 million, compared to US$16,807 million in the previous week. During the week, SBP made payments of US$374 million on account of external debt servicing and other official payments.
