Islamabad, November 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): The launching ceremony of recently approved ”National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2012” is going to be hosted by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology on November 23, 2012 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Mir Changaiz Khan Jamali, Federal Minister for Science and Technology would be the chief guest of the ceremony.
The ceremony will be graced by a number of dignitaries including Federal and State Ministers, Parliamentarians, Federal and Provincial Secretaries, Heads of R and D organizations, VC’s of universities, eminent scientists, representatives of foreign missions, international donors, representatives of private sector/industry Chamber of Commerce and others.
The new National ST and I policy reflects a milestone for development strategy of self-reliance and is demand-driven and people centric. As this policy focuses on improving the quality of the common people by creating an industrial and economic environment, the launching ceremony is expected to attract a large number of audiences from different walks of life. The main objective of the ceremony is to create consciousness about the National ST and I policy among various stake holders.
The policy has been recently approved by the government and PCST has been entrusted the task to implement, monitor and evaluate the policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
