Landslides reported south of Al-Aqsa Mosque due to Israeli digging works

Jerusalem (IINA) Palestinian residents of Silwan town on Sunday reported landslides in Baydoun neighborhood south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which were attributed to Israel’s ongoing excavation work near the Mosque in East Jerusalem.

Sources said Silwan is affected by landslides every year due to the digging works being carried out by Israel south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially Wadi Hilwa Street, causing cracks in buildings and properties of the town neighborhoods.

The excavation works are carried out with the support of organizations that promote and finance Israeli settlement activity. These works are implemented under the supervision of Israel which seeks to obliterate the Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem and give it a predominantly Jewish identity.
