Srinagar, May 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement has said that Kashmir is not a border or land dispute between India and Pakistan, but it is an internationally-recognized political dispute, which needs to be resolved as per people’s aspirations.
Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement from police station in Srinagar termed the Indian Prime minister’s special envoy S K Lambah’s remark on Kashmir as undemocratic and unrealistic.
He said that people of Kashmir were struggling for plebiscite and right to self-determination. He made it clear that any solution against the Ksahmiris’ aspirations would not be acceptable. He said it was clear that India’s negative approach towards Kashmir was a main hurdle in settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zafar Akbar Butt also condemned the forcible eviction of more than a hundred Muslim families and burning down of their Kullas at GoleGujral in Jammu and termed it as a barbaric and inhuman act. Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Azam Inqilabi and Shabbir Ahmad Dar also criticized the Lambah’s statement.
