Family Owned Enterprises (FOE) are the backbone of the Pakistani economy and contribute enormously to employment creation, export earnings and the growth of our economy.
He said that the sad fact was that many Family Owned Enterprises will not survive from one generation to the next or ever realize their true potential. The break-up of a family business has far reaching implications for the entire family, personal relationships are destroyed and the business can collapse as a result.
Ijaz A. Mumtaz said that said that corporate governance is an increasingly important area of focus for stakeholders in all organizations and particularly those listed on publicly traded exchanges. Today, all the organizations operating either at large or medium scales are facing ever greater challenges in addressing risk management, business ethics, strategic plans and internal controls.
