Lahore, August 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Monday, while fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), donated Rs 4.3 million to as many as ten charitable institutions working well within the jurisdiction of the LCCI.
The cheque-distribution ceremony, held here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was presided over by the LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar while LCCI Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Vice President Mian Abuzar Shad, former Presidents Mian Misbahur Rehman, Mian Muzaffar Ali, former Senior Vice President Sohail Lashari, President Albaraka Bank Shafqaat Ahmad, LCCI Executive Committee members and representatives of the charitable institutions attended the function.
The recipients of the donation are: Shalamar Hospital, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital, Hijaz Hospital, Patients Welfare Society Lady Willington Hospital, Clapp Hospital, The Trust School, Sundas Foundation, Fatmeed Foundation, Rising Sun Education and Welfare Society and Foundation for Rehabilitation and Education of Slow Children.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly believes in CSR and would continue to extend a helping hand to all the charitable institutions for the fulfillment of their noble cause.
The LCCI President said that the present management did not use chamber’s funds to give donations but the money was raised from the incumbent Executive Committee members, former office-bearers and former Executive Committee Members as a number of institutions had contacted Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for donation. Earlier, the LCCI secretary General Syed Muhammad Saqlain gave a detailed presentation to the participants on CSR by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
