Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while condemning loss of precious lives in bomb blast at Lahore Railway Station and plane crash incident, has urged the government to unveil the black sheep behind these tragic incidents and award them exemplary punishments.
In a statement issued here Wednesday, the LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher and Vice President Saeeda Nazar said that the blast was a well planned conspiracy to destabilize the country by destroying its social and economic fabric.
The LCCI office-bearers urged the government to convene a roundtable of all the political parties and business community to make a consensus policy to cope with law and order related incidents that have jolted the very basis of the country. They said that it was very strange that despite all our efforts, the terrorists were attacking the place of their choice and killing innocent people.
The LCCI office-bearers said that any further delay in taking a strong stand against terrorists would cause undue damage to the country therefore the Prime Minister, the President and all the Chief Ministers should sit with the politicians and business leaders to evolve a methodology to get rid of this menace.
Meanwhile, they demanded of the President of Pakistan Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to ensure early completion of inquiry being conducted on the sad incident of Bhoja Airline plane and not only its findings should be made public but the responsible persons should be punished.
They said that those private airlines should be blacklisted that are not following the rules and regulations set by the Civil Association Authority At the end, they prayed for the departed souls of Lahore Railway Station and Bhoja Airline incidents and early recover of the injured.
