Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, City Traffic Police will continue to work to facilitate business community on traffic-related issues

Lahore, March 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and City Traffic Police will continue to work in complete coordination to facilitate the business community on traffic-related issues and to overcome licensing problems.

This was resolved at a meeting between LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari and SP Headquarters Muhammad Azhar held here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday. Chairman LCCI Standing Committee on Paper and Paper Board Khamis Saeed Butt and DSP Arif Mahmood Butt also spoke on the occasion.

The LCCI President thanked the Chief Traffic Officer Capt (retd) Sohail Chaudhry and the City Traffic Police for facilitating the LCCI members by giving them licenses through mobile units at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that it had not only saved the time of the business community but also increased the liaison between the two sides.

Engineer Sohail Lashari said that he had always advocated a strong interaction among all the public and private sector institutions to put the country on path to progress and prosperity. He said that in previous years we had never paid any considerable attention to the factors that all the segments of the society should be on the same page as far as national interests are concerned and that was the only reason of slow economic growth of a resourceful country like ours.

The LCCI President said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue to provide maximum help to the traffic police. Smooth flow of traffic not only cuts the cost of doing business but also ensures on-time delivery of goods at their destination.

He admitted that keeping the flow of traffic was a Herculean task but the traffic police was managing it in such a nice manner that every segment of society was appreciating them SP Headquarters Muhammad Azhar said that the traffic police had already shown its readiness to establish a booth at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the facilitation of the business community.

He said that the mobile units of City Traffic Police were already providing licensing facility to a large segment of society at their doorstep and was ready to go to all the city markets.

He informed the participants that City traffic police was putting in its best efforts to keep the vehicular traffic on the move. It is providing necessary assistance to the government in the removal of encroachments which are the biggest hurdle in the flow of traffic.

Khamis Saeed Butt, the Chairman LCCI Standing Committee on Paper and Paper Board, paid rich tributes to traffic police for having consistent liaison with trading community.

He said that the traffic police role is very vital in the sense that a disciplined traffic flow gives a picture of whole society on the one hand while on the other hand it plays its role in economic turnaround by cutting transportation time of goods carriers. At the end of the meeting the SP traffic gave away licenses to as many as 42 LCCI members.
