Lahore, November 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to the Chief Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to direct a transparent enquiry to the Reko Pharmacitical Ltd issue and stop the government functionaries from unduly harassing the owners.
In a statement issued here Monday, the LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar said that some elements were giving a different colour to the whole issue for their ulterior motives whereas the autopsy reports had already made it clear that the deaths took place due to over dose.
According to the doctors, who conducted the autopsy, the people who consumed the said syrup, were addicts and they were under the influence of alcohol.
The LCCI President also urged the Chief Minister to issue necessary directions for unsealing the factory as a haphazard action had deprived over 400 people working with the Reko Pharmacal of their jobs while the entire industry is in a state of shock.
