Lahore, November 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): Lahore Businessmen Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (LABARD) has decided to enhance scope of its activities by upgrading the existing disciplines in its training syllabus. The decision was announced by the LABARD President MNA Pervaiz Malik while addressing the participants at a function organized in connection with inauguration of new facilities at LABARD Training Centre. LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari was the Chief Guest while Mian Nusratuddin, Saeed Khan, Ahmer Malik, Farooq Naseem and LABARD Governing Body Members also spoke on the occasion.
The LABARD President said that new training courses to be incorporated in the LABARD Syllabus had been designed keeping in view the demand of the customers. He said that Professional Cooking, AUTOCAD and Graphic Designing would now be taught to the disabled students through modern gadgets and modern technology.
He said that it was a happy sign a considerable increase had been witnessed in the students who intend to learn technical courses to play their role as effective members of the society. Pervaiz Malik said that if the need arises, new training centers would also be opened in different parts of the country as a number of international donors had already expressed their confidence in LABARD.
He said that there was no second opinion about it that the present government was giving due attention towards the well being of less privileged class of the society but every segment of the society would have to play its role to this regard. LABARD Ahmer Malik and Saeed Khan threw light on the services being offered to the disabled persons.
They said that all services were being provided free of cost to make these ailing people an active part of the society. Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would go extra mile in cooperation aimed at lessening the problems of disabled persons.
He paid rich tributes to LABARD office-bearers for spending their time and energies for this noble cause. He said that LABARD is a feather in LCCI cap and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would leave no stone unturned in ensuring proper assistance to the LABARD. He said that all the businessmen should at least accommodate one disabled person in his factory or office to curtail the miseries of the society.
