Peshawar, July 28 2013 (PPI-OT): The KP Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader of Jamat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that his govt has imposed health and education emergency earlier than Punjab. He vowed this govt came at helm of affairs with agenda of change and would thus provide relief to the poor masses by restoring supremacy of law and merit as well as the menaces of corruption, inability and nepotism would be eliminated all over the province.
He was talking to delegation of elite of Lakki Marwat led by Maulana Malik Mir Shah and Azizullah Marwat, District Amir and Naib Amir of JI that called on him at Peshawar and apprised him of certain problems of the area. The delegation while appreciating the people friendly steps of the provincial govt revealed that changes at Thana (Police) and Patwar (Revenue) levels started emerging while expectations of the youth converting into surety.
They thanked that Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Lakki and Girls Degree College Serai Naurang that were put on ignorance in past have also been formally inaugurated a week back thus fulfilling long standing demand of the locals. The Senior Minister on a complaint of abduction of a local contractor for ransom, his allegedly shifting into DIK limits and non-recovery for last one month, ordered DPO Dera to take immediated steps in this regard.
Srajul Haq assured that law and order situation in all the districts including Lakki Marwat would be improved. Similarly drastic changes in service delivery of health, education, water supply, agriculture, communication and all other sectors would be brought about to improve life standard of the masses considerably.
He said budget has been divided into three major parts viz Welfare, Development and Administration as per footprints of the golden Caliph era. Colossal funds of Rs 168 and 118 billion have been set aside for welfare and development purposes respectively.
Three guideline principles have been fixed viz poverty elimination, maximum provision of civic facilities to the already deprived citizens and bringing backward districts at par with developed parts of the province. Industrialization and job creations were among top priorities of the govt.
New interest free loan scheme with initial fund of Rs 2 b was being introduced while Rs 1 b allocated for youth of 12 most backward districts to provide them small loans for business. Similarly Rs 500 million has been set aside to provide Rs 2000 monthly allowance to unemployed youth having masters degree. Rs 120 million allocated for promoting industry and business activities among youth.
A first ever comprehensive Youth policy was also being evolved. Youth Centers would be established at Divisional Headquarters with allocation of Rs 1b each to provide business and professional guidance and creation facilities to the young while Rs 100 million each would also be provided for sports equipment etc there.
Senior Minister reiterated that wastage of govt resources would be stopped. A cut of 50% has been imposed on Governor and CM houses and secretariats. Foreign treatment and purchase of new vehicles have been banned for govt VIPs and officials. No free stay would be allowed at govt rest-houses, guest houses and dak bungalows and all would have to pay accordingly. KP revenue authority (KPRA) is being established as first step for tax reforms under Finance Bill to control domestic taxing on services and it would be another milestone towards provincial autonomy.
Waiver of property tax on industrial units is being extended for 5 years to lay foundation for industrialization in KP. Energy emergency has been imposed in the province. 20 hydel power houses have been planned to produce 25 MW electricity. He in this regard strongly appealed the federal, Punjab, Sindh and Baluchistan govts as well as overseas Pakistanis to generously invest and help KP govt in cheap power generation to overcome electricity load-shedding and sure economic growth in the country.
