Lahore, March 16, 2017 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique, along with Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja paid a visit to Children Complex Multan. They expressed their annoyance over the incomplete functioning of the complex. Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Nadar Chatha, MS Children Complex Dr. Shahid Bukhari and other officers of the department accompanied the Minister. Kh. Salman Rafique said that provision of quality health services to the people is the passion of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, for which, he is endeavouring hard.
He said that all the government functionaries have to play their role for achieving the government targets. He said that Chief Minister has also reservations over the incomplete functioning of extended block of Children Medical Complex Multan. The Minister said that strict action would be taken against the officials showing negligence. On this occasion, Kh. Salman Rafique and ACS inspected each side of Children Medical Complex and issued necessary instructions to the administration.
The Minister also directed to complete the process of recruitment of staff according to the SNE for the hospital. Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja said that welfare of the people is the top priority of the government and construction of extension block of Children Medical Complex Multan is also a part of this welfare policy. He said that no leniency would be tolerated in making the complex fully operational. Meanwhile, Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Kh. Salman Rafique and ACS Shumail Ahmad Khawaja also attended a video link briefing regarding Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases.
Secretary Communication and Works Department Mian Mushtaq Ahmed, Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chohan, Member Health P and D Dr. Shabana Haider and representatives of Indus Hospital participated in the video link briefing from Civil Secretariat Lahore. On this occasion, issues related to the functioning of MIKD were discussed in detail. Many bottlenecks were removed during the meeting by the Minister and the ACS. Kh. Salman Rafique directed to ensure complete functioning of MIKD without any further delay.
