Srinagar, May 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has condemned the decision of the Governor led authorities to lease out 60 kanals of industrial land to the Indian Forces vowing to challenge the decision in the High Court.
A spokesman of the KCCI in a statement in Srinagar said that the business community of the territory was suffering due to the unavailability of land and the KCCI is on record to have asked the authorities, time and again, to retrieve the land wasted under the occupation of the forces to make the same available for industrial and commercial use.
It was surprising evacuating the occupied land, the administration announced that it was in the process of identification of land for creation of small Satellite Industrial Estates of around 40 kanals, the huge chunks of prime industrial land were being converted into camps and residential quarters for Indian forces, the KCCI spokesman said. He added that already more than 300 kanals of land belonging to the Zainakote Industrial Estate was transferred to different wings of the Indian forces. The spokesman said that KCCI was considering approaching the High Court, in this regard.
