Islamabad, March 25, 2014 (PPI-OT): Speaker, National Assembly has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Kazakhstan and strongly desire to further strengthen those relations through enhancing parliamentary and economic cooperation.
He said that both the countries were tied in everlasting bonds of religion, history and culture. He said this while talking to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev, who called on him in the Parliament House.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan shared views and perceptions on global issues and supported each other on regional and international forums. He said that it was heartening to note that both the countries were desirous for peace and prosperity in the world.
He said that both the countries ought to strengthen their parliamentary linkages through enhancing interaction between both the legislatures. The Speaker was pleased to note that interaction between parliamentarians from either side through Pak-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship group could bring both the brotherly countries more closer.
The Speaker proposed for an enhanced interaction between business communities of both the countries for mutual benefit. He said that immense potential for investment exists in oil exploration, energy generation, agriculture and other sectors of economy.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev thanked the Speaker for his kind remarks and said that his country also values its friendship with Pakistan and was keen to strengthen its relations and enhance cooperation with Pakistan in all sectors of the economy.
He agreed that parliamentary friendship groups could play a vital role in enhancing bilateral relations. He said that interaction between business communities of both the countries could generate economic activity on either side.
