Kashmiris sacrificing for Kashmir settlement: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, December 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the people of Kashmir have been struggling since 1931 for the just settlement of Kashmir dispute and during the past 27 years, Kashmiris have offered enormous sacrifices of life as well as property. According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his statement in Srinagar while paying tributes to the founding members of Muslim Conference, Late Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas on his anniversary, said that he led people on the path of respectful and dignified life.

The Mirwaiz said Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas, Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Shah and other leaders were victimized and forced to migrate yet they continued to offer selfless sacrifices, thus registered their names in the history of Kashmir with golden letters. He said these leaders would be always remembered by the people of Kashmir for their unflinching faith and commitment towards the Kashmir struggle.

Terming the freedom of Kashmir and the resolution of Kashmir issue the dream of these iconic leaders, he said their dreams would be actualized when the Kashmir dispute is resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. The Hurriyet Chairman expressed confidence in the resolve of the people and said they would exhibit ideological unity and remain steadfast in carrying forward the resistance movement to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, terming the arrests of unarmed youth of Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla and Palhalan as state-sponsored terrorism’, APHC spokesman condemned the authorities for the arrest spree and said it was shameful to present the juveniles and detained youth in handcuffs before the court as if they were any criminals. Spokesman while condemning it said this was an insult to the Kashmiri youth who are framed by the police in various frivolous cases, which is a worst case of human rights violation.
