Srinagar, April 18, 2016 (PPI-OT):Speakers at a meeting in London have said that people are being brutalised and killed by Indian troops on a daily basis in occupied Kashmir. The meeting was organized by British Kashmiris belonging to different organisations at the Kashmir Secretariat in London.
Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Chief Patron of Kashmir Concern, Raja Mohammed Eshaq Khan, President of All Parties International Kashmir Co-ordination Committee, Amjad Abbasi, Chairman of All Jammu and Kashmir Publicity Board UK, Sajid Yousaf, Secretary General of APIKCC, Sabir Hussain, Advocate Shakeel Ahmed and others participated in the meeting. Shawl briefed the participants of the meeting about the latest political situation in occupied Kashmir. It was explained that a grave human right situation had been created. People are being brutalised and killed on a daily basis. Five people have recently killed in Kupwara, he added.
He said that India had already given a deaf ear to international voices to revoke the draconian laws used to shield the military personnel. It was resolved that all the members of parliament would be approached to discuss the latest human rights situation of occupied Kashmir. The role of Amnesty International was appreciated for its immediate response to Kupwara incidents. An appeal his been made to all the human rights organisations to take up the latest human right situation with government of India.
