Srinagar, March 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the arrest spree launched by the authorities and said that the Valley has been turned into a police state by using oppressive measures to suppress the people’s voice for freedom.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “If the people’s aspirations would have been suppressed by force then in the whole world it would have been the rule of the oppressors. But it is not the case and history is witness that the oppressors are answerable before the people’s court.”
The veteran leader said that the research scholar, Mudassir Ahmad Malla who was found hanged under mysterious circumstances in his hostel at Hyderabad University was no less than ambassador for the Kashmiris.
Syed Ali Gilani said that the struggle that had the backing of the intellectuals would reach to its logical conclusion.
“Malla is an ambassador who protested against the hanging of the Guru by the Indian rulers but refused to bow before the oppressive forces. He raised his voice against India’s injustices towards the Kashmiris,” he added.
He appealed to the student community to pay tributes to Malla by taking a pledge that they would work for the movement apart from the pursuing education.
