Srinagar, May 30, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF), Nayeem Ahmad Khan, on Friday said that resolution of Kashmir in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspiration will pave the way for political and economic prosperity of the South Asian region.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan addressing a party function at Tangmarg said that Kashmiri people had rendered huge sacrifices for settlement of the dispute and not for formation of puppet regimes in the territory. He said that the ongoing liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs.
“The people of Kashmir want settlement of Kashmir dispute keeping in view the historical aspect of it because Kashmiris had been offering their blood since 1931. India and Pakistan must exhibit their political and diplomatic maturity and adopt a pragmatic approach about the Kashmir dispute because accepting facts of a dispute is the very first step towards the resolution process,” he maintained.
“India’s unethical and incomprehensible approach towards the resolution process has caused a political suffocation in the whole south Asian region and it has in return damaged New Delhi itself by limiting its role. Otherwise India would have been a very important player at the international level. The fact is that India should understand the historical and geographical sensitivity of Kashmir dispute for its own benefit,” he added.
Nayeem Khan said that Kashmir dispute had turned Kashmir into a huge graveyard. “And hardly any day passes when the residents of Kashmir do not remember any tragedy. Kashmiris want a resolution of the dispute where their faith, respect and honour will be safe,” he said.
