Srinagar, August 20, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif in his first address to the nation on Monday since assuming office in June said, Kashmir is a national issue and the jugular vein of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister reiterated his wish to have good neighbouring relations with India. “It is responsibly of Pakistani and Indian leadership to understand that wars of the past have ruined our relations,” he maintained.
Nawaz Sharif said that both the countries should realise that instead of wasting their energies and resources on wars‚ they should wage war against poverty‚ ignorance and diseases.
The Prime Minister said that he had always wanted good relations with India and the people had supported his contention during the general election in May. He said that the nation is fully prepared to defend the motherland along with its valiant armed forces.
