Kashmir Day will be observed in IOK tomorrow

Srinagar, June 23, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have jointly called for observing Kashmir Day tomorrow and Al Quds Day on Jumat-ul-Wida on July 1.

The statement jointly issued by the top Hurriyet leaders in Srinagar said that India and Israel were committing genocides of the Kashmiris and the Palestinians in a planned manner. They appealed to the Islamic scholars and imams of the mosques to highlight the issues of Kashmir and Palestine on these days. The leaders said that peace would elude the world until Kashmir and Palestine disputes were settled as per aspirations of the peoples of these disputed territories.

Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred three youth in Lolab area of Kupwara district. The personnel of Indian army’s 18 Rashtriya Rifles killed the youth during a military operation in the district.

APHC General Secretary Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement and Hurriyet leaders Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War at a meeting in Srinagar said that presence of Jammu and Kashmir as a dispute at UN agenda belied Indian claim over the territory.

The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a function in Srinagar eulogized the services of former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and noted religious, social and political leader Mirwaiz Maulana Yousuf Shah for the Kashmir cause. The event was organized in connection with 49th death anniversary of the Kashmiri leader. Hurriyet leaders Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, Javed Ahmad Mir and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in their separate statements also paid tributes to Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah.

Hurriyet leaders at a meeting chaired by Ghulam Muhammad Safi in Islamabad also paid rich tributes to Mirwaiz Maulana Yousuf Shah. Hurriyet leader Zafar Akbar Butt during his visit to the family of martyred Sheikh Tanveer Ahmad at Batamaloo in Srinagar reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to take the martyrs’ mission to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, Kashmir cricket team boycotted T-20 cricket tournament organized by Indian Army at Kulbug in Badgam. The team members said that they boycotted the tournament as an act of resistance.
