Karachi Water Sewerage Board to provide relief to Abbas Town victims by waiving their one year dues

Karachi, March 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): Standing in solitude with victims of Abbass Town Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has decided to provide them relief by waiving their one year dues and supporting them with provision of drinking water supply and sewerage facilities. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW and SB) Misbahuddin Farid.

According to the details, flats and shops have been destroyed near Abbass Town during recent terrorism leaving hundreds of residents affected. Therefore, KW and SB decided not only to wave water supply charges but to help the victims in acquiring water supply services. In this regard, M.D KW and SB directed DMD Technical Services and DMD (RRG) to implement on this decision immediately.

He directed DMD Revenue Waqar Hashmi to personally observe matters related to this issue. He said that victims of such incidents need practical help and for Allah’s blessings not only Government Institutions but every individual should help them.

Therefore, KW and SB being a public service institution has decided to waive their water bills for one year on humanitarian basis. On the directions of M.D KW and SB officers and D.M.D Revenue visited Abbas Town and collected necessary information in this regard. M.D KW and SB has requested the victims to contact M.D Secretariat in case they face any troubles regarding KW and SB matters.
