Karachi Water Sewerage Board requests religious scholars, in-charge of mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to ensure that water is not wasted during wado

Karachi, January 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Misbahuddin Farid has requested Religious Scholars, In-charge of Mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to ensure that water is not wasted during wado and also publicize this.

Referring to a Hadith he said that, Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umer (R.A.) states, “Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) walked past Hazrat Saad (R.A.) while he was performing Wado. Prophet (PBUH) said to Hazrat Saad (R.A.) what waste is this? When Hazrat Saad (R.A.) asked if the water is wasted during Waddo? Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said yes, even if you are performing wado on a stream.

M.D KW and SB stated that during a survey it was discovered that 95% of the Mosques, Religious Institutions and Imambargahs do not pay their water supply bills. He appealed to Religious Scholars, In-charge of Mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to check if they are consumers of Karachi Water and Sewerage board and in case their mosque, institute or imambargah is not registered, they may contact Deputy Managing Director (RRG) for the registration.

He said that it is not only our national but religious duty as well. Moreover, our religion also preaches us to avoid wastage and other such practices. He also requested Religious Scholars, In-charge of Mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to place Hadiths, Stickers and Statements regarding wastage of water at the Wado area.

He also directed D.M.D (RRG) to ensure that In-charge of Mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions do not face any troubles during the registration process and measures must be taken for their assistance during the process.

Furthermore, he also appealed the citizens of Karachi to avoid wastage of water since it leads to shortage of water. He said that if the citizens avoid wastage of water it can lead to better water supply and less water shortage in several areas. Women and Children often waste water in access, however Karachi Water and Sewerage Board can ensure better supply if the citizens of Karachi cooperate in this regard.

Lastly, he said that in-charge of Mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions can contact D.M.D (RRG) at 99245142 for registration.
