Karachi, December 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that Jinnah Terminal Flyover will be completed by the end of next month whereas four flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan would be completed till March and opened for traffic. He said this while addressing a review meeting held on construction works of Roads and Flyovers in the city.
The meeting was attended by Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Sr. Director Transport and Communication Muhammad Ather and other officials. Administrator Karachi said that construction of flyover on Sharae Faisal would facilitate the traffic goes to Airport and National Highway.
This flyover having three lanes would be completed in given time. Construction work of flyover was underway without any hurdle and 9 spans of the flyover had been completed and construction of box guard and desk slabs consist of 120 meter were underway whereas two more desk slabs each consist of 90 meter will be prepared. Administrator Karachi said that Sharae Faisal was an important and busy road and high traffic pressure exists here due to international airport. He said that flyovers on Malir-15 and Kalaboard would be constructed to make Sharae Faisal signal free for which Rs24million were reserved in budget.
The construction of these flyovers would facilitate the residents of Port Qasim, Steel Mill, Malir and other adjoining areas. He directed project director to be present at construction site all the time and ensure good quality standard. He said that he would keep on visiting other projects including Jinnah Flyover gradually to inspect speed and standard of material being used in construction works.
On this occasion Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon gave a briefing and informed that this flyover consists of 570 meter length and high quality standard was being considered. Administrator Karachi said that construction works of four flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan was underway speedily at the same time and we were trying our best to reduce the inconvenience faced by the citizens.
He said that the construction works of four flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan would be completed till March of next year whereas construction work of Mehran Hotel Underpass and Shaheen Complex Flyover was also being started and the completion of these projects would provide citizens with better traveling facilities which would not only save their time but fuel as well. He said that the construction works of Shahrah-e-Quaideen was also admired by a large number of citizens and this was the most beautiful and widest road of the city and LED lights were also installed on this road.
