Karachi, January 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan has said that central procession of Chehlum was completely monitored by Command and Control System and law enforcement agencies and KMC officers with dedication and responsibility made the arrangements for procession of Chehlum due to which procession ended in a peaceful manner.
He said this while paying visits to emergency centers established on various locations of processions where he was accompanied by Sr. Director Municipal Services Dr. Shaukat Zaman, Director Machinery Pool Noman Arshad and other officials.
He said that religious scholars of various schools of thoughts made ideal arrangements on which administrators of processions expressed their satisfaction on arrangements and they said it was their responsibility to enhance the feeling of equality, brotherhood and love and expand the sentiment of patience and tolerance in our nature.
Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan paid detailed visits to the camps setup in Mazar-e-Quaid, NJV School, Mama Parsi School, KMC Old Building and Boltin Market. He also met with the rescue teams, staff and officers of various departments and city wardens deployed in routes of processions of Chehlum and urged them to perform their responsibilities with dedication.
On this occasion Chief Officer was informed that emergency camps were established in Polo Ground and Civic Center where snorkel, fire brigade and rescue unit were available and fire tenders, water bowsers, rescue unit and city wardens were also deployed whereas more than 350 firemen were performing their duties in the routes of processions.
Chief Officer said that medical and paramedical staff in all big hospitals of the city were made high alert and medical camps were also established in the routes of procession to provide prompt medical treatment.
