Karachi, June 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has directed Municipal Services Department to deploy lifeguards on all sea sides including Hawks Bay, Sandspit, Mubarak Village, Paradise Point, Cap Mount due to tidal heights and heavy waves in monsoon season so that prompt help could be provided to citizens in case of any incident on sea sides and their lives be saved.
KMC Administrator has taken strict notice of citizens drowning on picnic points before a few days and said that directives to avoid having bath in the sea were issued for citizens every year due to heavy waves in monsoon which aimed at protecting precious human lives from possible incidents therefore citizens in monsoon season should also avoid having bath in the sea.
He said that KMC has deployed lifeguards for providing citizens with prompt help on sea sides who have been given special training for saving people while drowning and a good number of human lives have also been saved by them so far however it was also necessary for citizens to follow the instructions issued in their best favour.
Administrator Karachi directed that lifeguards should perform their duties on sea sides on constant basis. He said that KMC would keep performing its responsibilities for providing citizens with safety in connection an Emergency Rescue Center has also been established on Hawks Bay to provide prompt help in case of any incident therefore all necessary facilities along with first aid could be improved.
