Karachi, March 15, 2016 (PPI-OT):KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh has directed municipal officials to take immediate steps for seizure of stray animals roaming on roads and closure of all roadside cattle markets and preparation of beautification plan for the whole track of University road from Safoora Goth to Jail Chowrangi.
During a detailed visit of the University Road on Tuesday where he travelled in a bus from Peoples Chowrangi to Safoora Goth via New M.A Jinnah Road along with Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui, Administrator DMC East Rehmatullah Shaikh and senior directors and heads of KMC departments he also issued directive for removal of all illegal shops, pushcarts and cabins on the edges of University road with the instruction to initiate a major encroachments removal operation on both side of this road from Karachi University to Safoora Goth.
Before this he planted a sapling at Allama Iqbal road to inaugurate the tree plantation work in DMC East. The Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh also inspected the cleanliness works and issued various directives. He also instructed officials to make the car show room owners bound for parking their vehicles at places other than the main road or these should be seized after making challan.
Administrator Karachi said all the encroachments which were made beneath the bridges in the city should also be removed and the garbage and construction waste lying on roads and pavements be lifted and removed without delay. Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh said measures for tree plantation and greenery should also be taken along with removal of encroachments on city roads.
He said he would pay visit to a major road every third day and then again visit these roads to check the implementation of orders issued in this connection. The concerned officer would have to face the action against him if any negligence or carelessness was found in this regard. He said the joint visit of DMC and KMC officials was aimed at taking on the spot decision and making joint efforts for solving the city problems. He said such visits helps understanding the city problems and their early solution therefore these will be carried on.
