Karachi Electric Supply Company asks consumers to minimise use of air conditioners

Karachi, October 18, 2012 (PPI-OT): Karachi Electric Supply Company has asked its consumers to conserve electricity in view of the reduced and erratic gas supply to its power generation plants, adversely affecting the power production.

KESC requested the general public, to consume as less power as possible especially during the peak hours of 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM when the power demand exceeds 2400 megawatts. In its statement, KESC said that rationalizing the usage of air-conditioning and the judicious utilization of other appliances would enable it to optimize load distribution for the maximum possible consumers.

KESC appreciated the support and continuous patronage from its power consumers and said that gas supply to KESC had significantly gone down making it extremely challenging for the power utility to meet the prevalent high, power demand.
