Karachi, October 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): Mr. Muhammad Haroon Agar, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has urged Mr. Ali Arshad Hakeem, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue to extend the deadline for filing of Income Tax Return up to 15th November 2012.
Outlining the various reasons, the Chamber`s President stated that worst situation of law and order, particularly occurred in Metropolis City of Karachi, which is being witnessed numbers of Rallies and agitation also due to the upcoming Holidays of Eid Ul Azha, filing of returns for the tax payers, will become a challenging task, also, members of KCCI, approaching us daily to help them in this imperative issue.
Therefore, President, demanded the FBR to extend the date of filing to 15th November, 2012 so that more taxpayers can get the chance to file their return of income and more revenue could be collected by the national exchequer which is much needed in the current state of affairs for development and welfare expenditure by the government.
KCCI is sanguine that Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue, would take immediate action of the genuine demand of the business community and announce the desired extension in the interest of maximum collection of tax revenue on the one hand and to facilitate the tax payers on the other hand.
