Karachi, April 18, 2016 (PPI-OT):Excessive bills are being received without telling any reason, upon which consumers have serious concern, said Farzana Jabeen, Senior Advisor of Federal Ombudsman office. She was hearing applications of citizens against excessive billing of K-Electric. Farzana Jabeen said consumers complain that in spite of paying bill every month regularly, suddenly excessive bill of huge amount is sent them upon which they can’t be help to be astonished and men and women are circumgyrating K-Electric’s offices.
She said that K-Electric’s staff says if bill is paid in instalments then connection will not be disconnected. Amount comes up again with next month’s bill even if poor citizens pay the instalments, by which lack of contact can be judged in K-Electric that in spite of paying instalment, allowance is not given. She said more that K-Electric should set such a strategy so that people can know reason behind excessive bill. Federal Ombudsman’s advisor Muhammad Yameen provided quick justice hearing the applications about over-billing by eradicating excess billing from their bills.
He said that K-Electric acts upon NEPRA rule, amount of fine could be reduced. He said that Federal Ombudsman is still receiving applications most about overbilling of K-Electric and citizens are happy for getting quick justice at their doorsteps and hundreds of applications are receiving. Advisors of Federal Ombudsman heard applications of Begum Muhammad Faheem, Syed Arif Hussain, Mursaleen, Muhammad Asad, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Hussain, Syed Karrar Haider and Muhammad Anwer.
