K.E. crossed all limits of over-billing, Muhammad Ameen, To be pasted banners in city against overbilling is shocking, Advisor to Federal Ombudsman

Karachi, November 03, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen has said of K.E. crossed all limits of over-billing, banners are pasted in the city against over-billing which is shocking, Advisor to Federal Ombudsman was expressing his thought on occasion of hearing of applications against K-Electric at Deputy Commissioner Malir and #39;s Camp Office. He said that on clear instructions of Federal Ombudsman Salman Farooqui to take quick action on applications of poor citizens is our goal which is appreciate as valuable by the poor people. He said decision are made at the Court within few days and there is no fee nor any advocate is needed, we try to settle the matters between the applicant and the representative of K.E. with understanding and we have successes in this regards.

Applicant Sughra Begum (Widow) told the Federal Ombudsman Court that my meter was transferred to another place during construction of my house 8 years ago, afterwards started continuation of excessive bills, I was told after whirling around K.E. offices several times that there is a garment factory in my house, there is no hearing and now billing amount is more than 3 lac, do justice with me, Muhammad Ameen referred this case to Senior Advisor after viewing the case who are entitled for hearing of 3 lac application. Applicant Syed Arshad Ali told the court that he was sent a bill of Rs. 24,000/- in February, 2016, after whirling around the office of K.E., it was changed to Rs. 18,000/- which I paid at once but after then I received a bill of Rs. 44,000/- in June, 2016, company changed it Rs. 6500 by himself but still overbilling is continued, Muhammad Yameen ordered to changed the meter and revise the bill. Applicant Humayun told the Court that he is a retired army personnel and his pension is only Rs. 5400/-, so I could not pay the bill since two years, upon which the court upended the excess amount from the bill.

Another applicant Muhammad Kazim Raza told that his house is closed since long time but still he is receiving bill on approximation, The court ordered K.E. to check load and issue a revised bill, and upended the excess amount from the bill. Applicant Farid Ahmed told that his meter had been changed since 2 1/2 months ago while there is no balance is due to me but despite of this I was sent a bill of Rs. 77,184/- which is illegitimate, upon which the Court upended the overbilling. when the applicant Mudassir Khan Jadoon told the Court that he is sent a bill of Rs. 92,548/- which is cruelty to him, upon which representative of K.E. Waqas Ahmed produced the proofs of power theft for which the applicant was ashamed, afterwards giving him warning Muhammad Yameen upended the excessive bill. Applicant Farhan complained of overbilling, then the Court ordered to change the meter on company and #39;s expenses. Applicant Mehboob Hussain Qadri, Maqsood Khan, Noor Muhammad, Khan Bahadur and others and #39; applications was also heard and swift justice provided to them.
