Jammu, May 29, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem has condemned the flagrant human rights violations by Indian forces across the territory saying that Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into a police state.
Mir Shahid Saleem while addressing a Nazool-e-Quran conference at Thanamandi in Rajouri area of Jammu region said that all basic and fundamental rights of the people are being violated by India and its occupation authorities in occupied Kashmir. The conference was organised by JKPM to highlight the eternal and universal message of the Holy Quran.
Mir Shahid Saleem called upon India to release all Kashmiri political prisoners before Eid-ul-Fitr so that they can celebrate this auspicious occasion with their families and friends. Prominent among those who addressed the event included Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, Dr Muhammad Azam, Maulana Sabir Hussain, Maulana Abid Rehmani and Syed Shah Hussain.
The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement expressed serious concern over the illegal detention and deteriorating health of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. The statement said that Waza, who had been lodged at Sadar police station in Islamabad town, was not keeping well for the past few days.
Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir in a statement urged India to stop playing with the life of Hurriyat leaders like Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Aasiya Andrabi and release them at the earliest. Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in a statement also demanded the release of all political prisoners before Eid-ul-Fitr.
