Srinagar, August 23, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Movement (JKPDM) led by its chairperson Ms Tanveer Fatima today held a peaceful protest at Srinagar’s Press Colony and demanded resolution of Kashmir dispute through a meaningful dialogue between India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir. On the occasion the JKPDM chief patron Muhammad Yousuf Gilkar was arrested and lodged in Kothi Bagh Police Station. A high-level delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League led by Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi also participated in the protest.

On the occasion the JKPDM chairperson Ms Tanveer Fatima during an interaction with the media, said that the lingering status of the Kashmir dispute was a threat to the peace of South Asian region. She said the people of Kashmir are primary party to the Kashmir dispute because the dispute concerns their political future; therefore, Indian ruling dispensation should shun the stubborn approach to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the emotions and aspirations of the land.

She said that it was better for the leadership of India to accept the reality that Kashmir dispute could only be resolved by talking to people of Kashmir and Pakistan, adding, that the leadership of India should show maturity and prudence to settle the dispute through a meaningful dialogue.
