Srinagar, March 23, 2017 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) has strongly denounced the illegal detention of its Chairman, Nayeem Ahmed Khan.
Nayeem Ahmed Khan was arrested by Indian police at Srinagar airport on Wednesday when he was about to leave for New Delhi to attend the Pakistan Day function. He was lodged at Rajbagh Police Station in Srinagar.
The JKNF spokesman in a statement strongly condemning the arrest of party Chief said that the action depicted the frustration of the puppet regime. He termed the banning of Nayeem Khan’s visit to New Delhi as a confession of defeat at the hands of Hurriyet leadership by the authorities.
The spokesman said that such undemocratic and brutal measures could not deter the Kashmiris from continuing their just struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, Hurriyet leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly denouncing India’s rigid stance on the Kashmir dispute said that dialogue was the only way for resolving the lingering dispute. He said that peace would prevail in the South Asian region only when the Kashmir dispute was settled in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
