JKLF expresses concern over plight of detainees

Srinagar, November 23, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of the territory.

The JKLF in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the atrocities being committed on prisoners especially the youth arrested during recent times and lodged in Kot Bhalwal, Kathua, Hiranagar and Jammu jails. It said that the puppet authorities were terrorizing the prisoners through different oppressive means.

The JKLF said that in Kot Bhalwal and other jails even medical facilities were being denied to the inmates. It said that young prisoners and resistance leaders and activists were being put into solitary cells in Kot Bhalwal jail for days.

The JKLF expressed concern over the deteriorating health of different inmates including Hurriyet leaders, Bashir Ahmad Butt, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Muhammad Ashraf Laya and Dr Ghulam Muhammad Hubbi.

It also denounced the continued detention and house arrest of Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Aasiya Andrabi, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Bilal Siddiqui, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Hubbi, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Ayaz Akbar and Muhammad Ashraf Laya.
