Karachi, January 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed to use the low cost LED lights on all newly built flyovers, bridges and corridors of city especially at the Jinnah Terminal Flyover and Shara-e-Pakistan.
He issued this directive during a meeting to review utilization of LED lights in various projects. D.G Technical, Director E and IP, Chief Engineers, Consultants, D.G Foreign Affairs and other officers attended the meeting. Administrator Karachi said latest technology must be used to get better results. The 16 km long Sharea Faisal has more than 600 electric poles and all such corridors should be lightened with LED fleet panels for better results.
He said LED lights were used on newly built Shara-e-Quaideen after which this road presents an attractive look at night hours. Administrator Karachi directed the Works Department, Master Plan and Transport Department to carry out development works under this vision so that the city could be made a city of lights. While giving a briefing on this occasion the CE of a local company said LED lights were being used all over the world nowadays which not only help saving electricity but also give good light to roads and corridors.
