Srinagar, March 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz who was booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) earlier, was shifted to Kathua Jail in Jammu on Sunday morning. Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz was detained on February 23 from his residence at Hyderpora and was placed under police detention. Today early morning he was shifted to Kathua Jail from Budgam police station, media reports said.
Earlier, India banned Jamaat-e-Islami under various law for the next five years. Besides the ban, scores of its leaders and activists were arrested by the police. On March 22, New Delhi also banned the Muhammad Yasin Malik led Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, while Yasin Malik was also detained under PSA and shifted to Kotbhalwal jail in Jammu.
