JI in IHK condemns arrest spree

Srinagar, April 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir (JI) has strongly condemned the illegal arrest of innocent youth by Indian police from different areas of the Valley.

The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the arrest spree was aimed at creating fear amongst the common people so that nobody dared to raise voice against the atrocities being committed on them by the occupation forces.

He said that through such methods the authorities wanted to subjugate the Kashmiris. He said that the authorities had also invoked inhuman laws in the territory to crush the helpless people.

The JI demanded an immediate halt to arrests, unconditional release of all Kashmiris including political leaders and workers and harassment of common people.
