Karachi, March 26, 2017 (PPI-OT): On March 26, 2017, the 32nd Japanese Language Speech Contest was jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi and Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA), Sindh at the Japan Information and Culture Centre.
10Pakistani students participated in the Speech Contest. Most participants were from different levels of Japanese Language Course, conducted by PJCA. Contestants made their speeches by themselves son a wide range of topics and shown excellent Japanese language skills. The audience keenly listened to their interesting talks.
Mr. Toshikazu Isomura, the Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, emphasized in his speech that Japan and Pakistan have deep and long relationships, and by learning Japanese language, Pakistani youth will have better understanding on Japan. Mr. Isomura also said learning a foreign language is the best way to learn about the culture and society of the country. The Japanese Consul General wished that this annual event will further contribute to the promotion of the Japanese language in Pakistan and will deepen mutual understanding between the people of Japan and Pakistan.
