Italy Interested in Investing in Pakistan’s Economy

Karachi: Italian investors are interested in investing in Pakistan’s economy, along with participating in the reconstruction efforts following the recent floods. This was stated by members of a delegation from Italy, comprising prominent businessmen, who visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Head Office in Karachi on October 10, 2011.

Mr Dawood Usman Jakhura, Vice President-FPCCI greeted Mr. Guiseppe Forlanelli, Mr. Massimiliano Calderan, Mr. Enrico Musso, Mr. Luchetta Antonio, Mr. Luchetta Gaspare, Mr. Mazzariol Adriano and Mr. Enea Alcerni Badin at Federation House. Also present at the meeting were Mr. S.M. Muneer, Mr. Mansha Churra, Shaikh Humayun Sayeed, Sardar Popalzai, Mr. Nasir H. Schon and Mr. Asher H. Schon.

The participants to the meeting identified areas of cooperation between Pakistan and Italy, including the capability of Italian companies to be involved in post-flood reconstruction efforts and investment in mining, furniture and automobiles sectors. The delegates departed with a plan to meet representatives of Pakistan’s furniture industry at Federation House the following day.
