Israeli aggression in Gaza evokes more condemnation

Srinagar, July 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, condemnations of Israeli aggression in Gaza continue to pour in as people of all shades held peaceful protest demonstrations and rallies in the territory against the killings of Palestinians at the hands of Zionist forces.

The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement said, the protest by the Kashmiris is a proof that they equally feel the pain and agony of their innocent Palestinian brethren. He condemned in strong words the double standards of the world community towards Muslims and deplored that effective steps were not being taken to end the bloodshed in Gaza.

“The new government in India is also patting Israel under the curtain and is happy over the massacre of the Muslims,” he added. The veteran leader reiterated the appeal for peaceful protest demonstrations on Friday against the Israeli aggression and observing the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as “Youm-e-Quds”.

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir, Muhammad Abdullah Wani, while speaking during an Iftaar dinner in Srinagar denounced the silence of Muslim countries over the Israeli action in Gaza. “While our brethren in Palestine are being rained with bombs silence of Muslim nations is despicable and disgusting,” he added.

The Kashmir University Teachers Association in a statement said that the bombing on Gaza by Israeli forces was barbaric and inhuman. The Association called upon international human rights organizations to take steps to stop the killing of civilians in Palestine.

The statement said that the failure of UN to act against the past war crimes of Israeli military had given Israel a licence to flout the International human rights norms. The puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, in a statement described the killings of scores of innocent Palestinians including children and women as heinous crime against humanity.
