Israel, India termed as strategic partners

Srinagar, July 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations describing India as a strategic partner of Israel have reiterated their condemnation of the Zionist aggression in Gaza and Indian brutalities in Kashmir.

People held protest demonstrations against Israeli aggression at many places, call for which was given by the veteran Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani.

The APHC Chairman and head of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering at Nawakdal in Srinagar deplored that the UN was playing the role of a mute spectator over the large-scale human tragedy in the two regions.

Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Yasmeen Raja and Farida Behanji in their separate statements urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to come forward in a big way to mitigate the sufferings of people of Kashmir and Palestine at the hands of oppressors.

Meanwhile, widespread protest demonstrations were held in Srinagar, Baramulla and other areas of the occupied territory against the ceaseless Israeli bombing in Gaza.

APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt paying tributes to Martyrs of 2010 and martyrs of Gool-Ramban deplored that no investigation was conducted into the incidents and the killers were roaming free.

On the other hand, hundreds of people took to the streets in Tral against the arrest of over two dozen youth by Indian police. They staged a sit-in in the area causing suspension of traffic for hours. The protesters demanded immediate release of the detained youth.

Several people including women and children were injured when police resorted to brute force on protesters at Magam on Srinagar-Gulmarg highway. The people were protesting against anti-people policies of the puppet administration.

Fateha khawani was held at the mausoleum of renowned political, religious and spiritual leader of Kashmir and former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah in connection with his the 47 death anniversary in Muzaffarabad, today.
