Islamabad Traffic Police FM Radio starts Green City program to include citizens in decision-making

Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) FM Radio 92.4 has started a special program Green City to be aired on every Wednesday to listen traffic related and other problems of the citizens and ensure their early redressed.

This program will be participated by officials from ITP and Capital Development Authority (CDA) to be aired on every Wednesday from 1 pm to 3 pm. These officials will listen to the problems of the citizens and focus on better road engineering in various parts of the city to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Problems regarding traffic hindrance on roads, suggestions to improve traffic flow will be discussed in this program and CDA officials will be also conveyed as how to bring further improvement in traffic flow in city.

This program was formally aired on Wednesday and Member Environment CDA Mian Waheed Uddin and Director General Environment Suleman Sheikh attended it along with SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz. They attended various calls and had a fruitful discussion with callers regarding maintaining traffic discipline in city.

SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood has said that ITP FM Radio 92.4 is playing an important role in educating citizens on traffic rules and regulations and it has been decided now to make traffic related decisions in consultation with citizens. He said this program is being aired for the same purpose of community policing.

He said that FM Radio project was already benefiting citizens, as it had raised awareness among them about traffic rules. Moreover, it would help control road accidents; promote the concept of safe driving among people, and ensure resolution of public problems through effective policing.
The SSP said people can discuss various problems without any hesitation in this program and every possible effort would be made to ensure concrete steps for effective and community policing.
