Islamabad: The personnel of Islamabad police participated actively in the rescue operation soon after crash of `Bhoja air plane’ at `Hussainabad’ in the area of Koral under the supervision of IGP and SSP Islamabad and shifted the dead bodies from the scene to hospital.
According to details, personnel of Islamabad police rushed to the scene after gathering information from sources and police teams under the command of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik immediately reached at the reported site. IGP Islamabad constituted various special teams under the supervisions of SPs to ensure rescue operation on speedy basis.
It is to mention that Police team pointed out the site within few minutes and reached there after passing through single-road dilapidated route in tough weather. People from nearby areas also tried to reach the scene which blocked traffic on this only route towards suburb area of `Hussainabad’.
Due to this problem, possibility raised for hampering the process of rescue and shifting dead bodies to the hospitals. Over this situation, special deployment of personnel from Islamabad Traffic Police and Islamabad police on the route heading towards this site was made which cleared the road for vehicles of rescue teams.
Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan also remained present on the scene and monitored rescue operation by personnel of Islamabad police. Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik , all Superintendents of Police, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers , Station House Officers and heavy contingents of police remained present there and all accomplished their duties in a responsible manner.
Various teams were constituted by SSP Islamabad which performed various tasks including collecting bodies’ parts, collecting valuables of passengers of ill-fated plane, removing wreckage of the plane and taking out bodies.
Teams of law enforcement agencies, staff from Capital Development Authority, Rescue 1122, Civil Aviation Authority, Rangers and other departments also reached there and participated in rescue operation along with local people with complete mutual coordination. Dead bodies were shifted at the places where ambulances were parked.
The personnel of Islamabad police also participated in the rescue operation on the second day (Saturday) under the supervision of SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik despite rain.
The SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiani, performing special duty at PIMS, has said that 127 bodies were shifted to hospital and nine bodies are still unidentified which would be handed over to heirs after the DNA test. He said that these bodies have been shifted to mortuary.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has also thanked the local people for their great support in rescue operation and expressed condolences with the families of deceased. He prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace. He said personnel of Islamabad police would remain present in the area for further assistance as officials from other relevant departments would decide as when to conclude this operation.
