Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that Islam is a progressive religion and therefore it spread like a wild fire in the entire world. He added that Islam adapted to modernism and those who see Islam to be collision path with modern science do not have full knowledge of the religion of Islam.
This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of 24 model science labs in Govt: Schools jointly established by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Department and the Iqra National University at Iqra University Peshawar on Wednesday.
The ceremony besides others was also addressed by the Minister for Information Technology, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Chancellor Iqra University Ubaidur Rahman, and Secretary Information Techno logy Muhammad Humayun Khan while MPAs Jafar Shah and Sher Shah Khan were also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that the IT Department in collaboration with Iqra University has established 24 model labs in 24 districts of the province at a cost of Rs. 39 million out of which 13 were in girls and 11 in boys schools have been established while the minister on this occasion announced establishment of more 40 such labs in the province.
The Information Minister said that modern education was key to emulate the nations of developed world. “Certainly there are some forces inspiring to keep us away from science and Technology but they should stand clear we would do whatever we can and therefore we would make inroad to remove confusion and lead our people to a clear and bright future”, he added.
Mian Iftikhar maintained, the government made it mandatory that access to education should be one of the basic right of every citizen below the age of 18 and therefore the parents who do not send their kids to educational institutions would be punished under the Child Protection Act.
He further said that modern education determine the future development but unfortunately the terrorists were bent upon to block access to science and technology. He continued that there should be no discrimination in all spheres of life and education should be the top priority of all and sundry without any gender discrimination.

The DCO Abbottabad under section 144 CrPC has imposed ban on unregistered tenants residing in the rented houses, illegal guest houses which are running without valid permission/registration, unregistered private hostels and stay and presence of non local students in Deeni Madaris. Anyone found violating this order shall be liable to be proceeded against under section 188 PPC. This order shall come into force forth with for 30 days.
