Karachi, December 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Better Management Plan has resulted in better performance of 90 percent industries in the city said Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan. Furthermore, we are going to introduce a new system for the water supply and sewerage pumping stations, which would ensure swift supply of electricity.
He was speaking at the inauguration of New Pumping Station for 100 Million Gallon Daily water supply to Karachi. M.D KW and SB Misbahuddin Farid briefed Governor Sindh regarding the problems faced by Water and Sewerage Board.
Governor Sindh in his speech said that Karachi the heart and economic backbone of Pakistan is growing rapidly and along with the city the problems increase. He thanked President Asif Ali Zardari and Qaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain who thinking of these needs ensured necessary actions.
He said that Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain always spoke to President about the problems of Karachi and President of Pakistan approved the largest budgets for Karachi ever approved in history. He approved the K-IV water supply project. He also approved the S-III project since 90 percent of the sewage is disposed in sea without any treatment.
He said that today’s inauguration ceremony is one of the many milestones we have to cover and upon completion, these projects would improve the water supply and sewerage disposal system in Karachi.
He said that Dumlottee wells are expected to be reactivated soon and we are trying to complete the projects for the betterment of infrastructure as soon as possible. He thanked Members of Provincial and National Assembly for playing a vital role in this regard.
Expressing that Dhabeji Pumping Complex is the largest pumping station in Asia and we are working to ensure swift supply of electricity to the complex. He announced a Residential Scheme for the employees of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board along with 2 ambulances for KW and SB.
He praised the efforts of M.D KW and SB Misbahuddin Farid under whom the institution is working to ensure one of the most difficult tasks, to provide water supply and sewage disposal to the city of lights.
He said that KW and SB could also improve their revenue situation by working just as hard for the revenue as they do for the projects. He said that due to President of Pakistan’s personal interest K- IV and S-III, projects have been approved and we are looking forward to complete these projects in record time as K-III was completed.
