Islamabad, November 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Federal Minister for Finance senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met the Afghan President Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani today on his two day official visit to Pakistan. Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz also attended the meeting.
Greeting the Afghan President Finance Minister said “Mr. Ghani is our esteemed guest and this visit has revived and renewed our resolve to move forward with great zeal and vigor not only to pursue our common economic agenda but also to tackle the whole gamut of issues between the two countries”.
The Finance Minister also said that this meeting is important because it has shown that both Pakistan and Afghan side are showing great flexibility in resolving the outstanding issues between the two countries. We have agreed to remove all impediments to ease trade and connectivity between the two countries and we are sure that the import and export between the countries will multiply manifold.
During the meeting it was also decided that Pakistan will expedite its work on projects related to Afghanistan like100 beds Naeb Aminullah Khan Hospital at Logar, hostel building for 100 students at Rehman Baba School, provision of medical equipment at Nishtar Kidney Hospital and 200 beds Jinnah Hospital at Kabul so that a feeling of good will develops between the two countries. During the meeting it was also decided that frequent contacts will be established between the countries to follow up the agreed projects.
