Karachi, December 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Iqra Model High School annual prize distribution was held at the Auditorium of DHA Women College Ph-VIII here today. Chairman Markazi Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman was the chief guest on the occasion.
The annual prize distribution and talent show of Defence Authority The chief guest emphasized the significance of learning the Quran and understanding its meanings. He appreciated the young Hafiz-e-Quran of the School who was given the title of ‘Quranic Computer’ due to his extra ordinary talent and ability. He stressed on the students and their parents who have memorized the Holy Quran to keep on reciting it regularly as it was a unique honour and blessing to remember the Quran by heart.
He further said that the spirit of Islam envisaged seeking to strive for constant knowledge and advancement in life while practicing its teachings and values in its real essence. He stated that the best way to follow Quran was to practice its teachings in one’s daily life.
Mufti Muneeb said that Defence Authority Iqra Model High School was a new generation school which offers a unique blend of Hifz-e-Quran and modern scientific education to the students. He said that the newly devised education system was unique in the sense that it equipped the students with the knowledge of contemporary modern sciences and arts as well as imbibed in them true Islamic moral and cultural values to make the students dynamic and forward looking citizens.
Earlier the Principal, Tahir Abdullah Siddiqui presented the annual report and highlighted the achievements of the school. He said that all out efforts were being made to develop optimum potential and talent of the students at the school.
The students later presented a very interesting, delightful and colourful variety programme which was much appreciated by the audience. At the end the chief guest distributed prize among the position holders and Hifz- e-Quran winners.
