Srinagar, July 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have thanked the Kashmiri people for observing complete shutdown, today, in protest against Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory.
Senior leader of Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that use of brute force could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people and they would continue their just struggle for securing their right to self-determination till complete success.
APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, in his statement in Srinagar said that the strike had proved that the people of Kashmir wanted their birthright to self-determination. He said that liberation struggle would be taken to its logical conclusion against all odds.
Another APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, in her statement issued in Srinagar while thanking the people of Kashmir for observing complete strike against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kashmir said that the history was testimony to the fact that no power on earth had been able to suppress the freedom sentiments of the enslaved people for a long time. She said that it was high time for Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to fulfil the promises made by Indian leadership with the Kashmiris.
The Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, Farida Behenji, in her statement appreciating the people of the territory for observing the strike said that the shutdown had proved that Kashmiris wanted freedom from India. She also condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists.
