Srinagar, April 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) denouncing the arrest of Hurriyet leaders and activists by the Indian police has termed it as the worst example of fascism and chauvinism.
The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that these actions were not only against the democratic values but were also in violation of fundamental human rights.
He said that police and executive were responsible for protection of basic human rights in a democratic government, but in occupied Kashmir, state machinery was being used blatantly to repress the voice of genuine representatives of the Kashmiri people.
The spokesman condemned the use of brute force by Indian police against the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and his colleagues in Islamabad town, yesterday.
